Warm Welcome

Despite the quite, the lack of sound, the building was alive with activity. RC peaked around the corner, looking for anyone who might spot her. Her companion just rolled her eyes and  turned the corner.

"Lynn," RC whined. "You're supposed to be 'sneaking' in." She jogged to her side in what Lynn supposed was a 'sneaky' way.

"No, you're supposed to be 'sneaking' in. I'm still welcome here."

RC forced her face into a pout. "It's not my fault the RangeMen don't know how to have fun, how to take a joke, or eat sugar, or..."

"Okay, we get it. They're a bunch of extinct flightless birds who don't know how to have a good time," Lynn threw up her hands in exasperation.

"Well, that's harsh." Both girls turned. "I'm pretty sure I know some ways to have fun. Remember Lynn?" He wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "Last night in the bed..."

Lynn slapped a hand over his mouth, cutting off his sentence. "Shut it if you ever want to have fun again, Charlie."

RC smiled. "You two are too cute."

Lynn sighed. "We're not cute."

"I think you're..." Lynn cut him off again, this time with a look. Charlie grinned but stayed quite. RC's smile widened.

Lynn resumed walking and the others were forced to catch up. She stopped just outside of Ranger's office, smiled, and said, "At least not as you in a butterfly exhibit." And she disappeared inside.

RC fumed and Charlie let out a bark of laughter. RC sent him her own glare, turned on her heel and back down the hall, muttering, "Butterflies are evil," to herself and the security cameras.
